Get Sleek Arms with an Arm Lift in Sydney

aliYour best friends probably won’t tell you. But, after you raise your arms in front of them, or they see you wave good-bye, they may roll their eyes and shake their heads when you are not looking. They are most likely embarrassed for you because they notice your “bat wings”. It’s that loose, saggy, jiggly, and dangling skin that flaps in the wind beneath your upper arms and for some it may only disappear with an arm lift in Sydney.

Dr. Darrell Perkins can help you determine if an arm lift procedure, also known as brachioplasty, is right for you. He has more than 15 years of clinical practice experience, and believes in a philosophy of maintaining the highest ethical standards, providing personalized service, and offering the utmost in patient education.

I stay active. I watch my weight. Why do I have ‘bat wings’?

Even though you do all the right things, you can’t completely stop the effects of aging. Along with hereditary reasons and extreme weight fluctuations, growing older can cause the skin between your elbow and shoulder to droop. Exercise alone can’t eliminate this type of sagging skin.

What makes a good candidate for a brachioplasty procedure?

To be a potential candidate for an arm lift in Sydney, you must be a non-smoking adult who is not extremely overweight, have no medical condition that could slow down or impede a post-procedure healing process, and, of course, have a substantial amount of loose skin on the underside of your upper arms.

What should I expect during my initial consultation?

If you meet the above-mentioned qualifications, please schedule an initial consultation with Dr. Darrell Perkins. During your first visit, you will immediately notice the genuine concern he has for the well-being of each of his patients. He will ask about your realistic goals for redefining your upper arms. Dr. Perkins will examine the target areas and also take photographs so that, along with input about your medical history and current physical status, a proper evaluation can be made. This is the time to ask any and all questions you may have about the arm lift procedure. Then, together, you and Dr. Perkins can make a mutual determination if a brachioplasty is right for you.

The Procedure

While under IV sedation or general anaesthesia, the excess, sagging, upper arm skin is reduced, the tissues underneath that define your upper arm are tightened, and the remaining skin is smoothed and adjusted over the new shape of your arm.

The Results

Once any swelling and bruising have subsided, you will notice the new, firm contours of your upper arms. Remember, as you age, your body will naturally lose some of its firmness. However, as long as you maintain your weight and continue to stay active and exercise, the results from your arm lift procedure should be permanent.

If you have excessively loose upper arm skin and would like to schedule an initial consultation to learn more about the arm lift procedure, please contact Dr. Perkins’ office online or (02) 9587 0871.
